Chris Studied at Carleton University in Ottawa and obtained a B.A. in Law in 1993. He is a registered Canadian trademark agent.
Chris’ practice includes all aspects of trademark prosecution including searching and clearance, filing, oppositions and cancellation proceedings. He is a recognized leader on Internet and domain name issues including registration and arbitration of domain names. He is fully bilingual (English and French) and is able to advise clients on labelling, and other requirements of the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) of the province of Quebec.
Chris is actively involved with the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), where he currently serves as a Director of the Institute and as Chair of the Trademark Agent Training Committee (TMATC), responsible for the preparation and performance of online courses directed to the continuing education of the agent profession in Canada. Chris has also been a speaker at the IPIC - McGill University Summer Courses in IP and is a frequent lecturer, both in Canada and abroad, on a wide variety of topics related to trademarks. Chris has also been actively involved with the International Trademark Association (INTA) where he formerly served on the editorial board of The Trademark Reporter and as a member of the Non-Traditional Marks Committee and Trademark Office Practices Committee (TOPC).
Chris has been recognized as one of the world’s leading trademark practitioners by World Trademark Reporter’s Top 1000 (WTR 1000) publication.
